Trigger Happy. Recovering Rover. My name is Nica and I'm an emotion extremist. English

#transformationtuesday
My #anorexia #recovery has been mostly successful, I’ve had a small relapse between January and April but I am now safely back on the road to a healthier and better body.
My main progress was seen during the first 3 months, where my weight was bulked on through clean eating at high calories and weight training to get my initial strength back.
Since then I have focused on building my muscle more, aswell as restoring my weight from my relapse early this year.
As I stand now (June 2014) I have a body fat of 20% and a bmi (bullshit mass indicator) as I get asked a lot of 20.2 this puts me safely into the healthy weight and even further then I was when I first restored my weight in late 2013.
I’m not happy with my body, and I don’t think I ever will be. I will constantly strive to better myself, to develop more tone and muscle and become fitter and stronger and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I want the best for myself, my mind and my body.

Recovery is hard and it’s no walk in the park, but you have to grit your teeth and get on with it. For years I wasn’t willing to do so, but now I realise how stupid I was. Recovery doesn’t have to be this dreaded process of getting ‘fat’ it should be this joyous journey of getting your mind and body back to their peak. To belonging to yourself again rather than an eating disorder.

I’m not fully recovered mentally yet, but I’m so looking forward to when I am!
